Health Benefits of Maintenance Care
Spinal manipulation is not limited to patients who have been involved in an accident or suffer from chronic neck or back pain. Manipulative therapy can benefit many people with a variety of health conditions. Even those with few, if any, symptoms can benefit from maintenance care as it minimizes the impact of life’s daily stressors on our bodies. As a natural healthcare approach, regular chiropractic adjustments restore and maintain balance within your body; leaving you better prepared to make the most out of each and every day. Busy parents, athletes, office workers…just about anyone can benefit from routine chiropractic care. Regular chiropractic visits help maintain our bodies at the high level of activity to which they have become accustomed in today’s busy lifestyle. Additionally, injuries are less likely to be severe and can heal at a much faster rate in those who receive regular chiropractic care, especially when combined with other healthy behaviors such as regular exercise and proper nutrition.

What is Chiropractic?
The word “chiropractic” derived its name from the Greek words meaning “done by hand”. Chiropractic is a conservative approach to health restoration, maintenance, and disease resistance. As a natural health-care method, chiropractic, by choice, does not utilize drugs or surgical procedures. While chiropractic recognizes that drugs and surgery may be necessary at times, it also understands their limitations and risks. Therefore, chiropractic takes a non-invasive approach to illness.

What is an Adjustment?
An adjustment is the specific manipulation of vertebrae which have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function properly. Unless corrected through manipulation (“adjustment”), such abnormal spinal function may negatively impact nerve activity.

What is Chiropractic Maintenance?
Maintenance care is defined by Medicare and the Insurance companies as follows: Maintenance therapy includes services that seek to prevent disease, promote health and prolong and enhance the quality of life, or maintain or prevent deterioration of a chronic condition. When further clinical improvement cannot reasonably be expected from continuous ongoing care, and the chiropractic treatment becomes supportive rather than corrective in nature, the treatment is then considered maintenance therapy.

Does my insurance pay for maintenance care?
What few people know is that Medicare and all major medical insurance carriers will not pay for maintenance care.  Your insurance coverage only includes treatment for acute conditions such as injuries from trauma and new conditions.  Your insurance typically does not cover treatment that is considered maintenance or supportive.  We offer affordable Wellness care plans that you can purchase and use at your convenience.

Most of us can agree that discipline is one of the most important virtues we can develop in our pursuit of self-improvement. Without the ability to exercise self-control and will ourselves to get the important things done, it’s nearly impossible for us to see the kind of progress and results we really want in our lives…. view all

We started a tradition when our doors first opened in 2007 of doing introductions at the beginning of each class – a tradition which has been adopted by CrossFit gyms all over the country. Because we have created an inclusive environment, our members all know each other, support one another, and socialize in (i.e. at our quarterly Taco Socials) and outside of the gym. Also, while many of our workouts are timed and competitive, it is all done in a supportive and team-oriented environment. Welcome!… view all

CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. At ShapeForce, you will not find any machines – instead, you will find kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, sleds, and tons of open space for running, jumping, climbing, lifting, and throwing. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a complement to your sport-specific training regime…. view all
